Spool Error Messages (Errors)

The most common error codes encountered in practice are explained below. TFORMer Server specific error codes are documented in the manual TFORMer Spooladmin.pdf (Remote Support). Event log error codes can be found in TFORMer Server.pdf.

Spool shows error code 0000006e or 00000002

• Spool shows error 0000006e with a normal printer (printer could not be initialized).
• Spool shows error 00000002 with PDF (printer could not be initialized).

This error message can occur when the report contains an image (image file) that TFORMer cannot find. The behavior for missing images (abort/ignore/print) can be configured in TFORMerSDK_Config\TFORMer.xml.

Spool shows error code 8002802b or 000010D8

These error codes mean: 8002802b = Element not found, 000010D8 = Object not found.

This error usually occurs when:

• A data field in the imported data (e.g. in the print server script) has no corresponding field in the form — the supplied data field is therefore not used in the form or in the repository.
• Check the form or the list of project data fields in the repository and compare it with the list of data fields passed to TFORMer Server.

You can ignore such surplus data fields by setting Common – Undefined Datafields to 0-Ignore in the repository (e.g. for a database SELECT with optional values).

Spool shows error code 800710D2

In most cases this error occurs when a new data field has been added to the form (e.g. a new barcode data field), but the new data field is not yet present in the imported file.

Spool shows error code 8007000D

This means the data you entered is "not permitted or invalid". TFORMer Server starts the print job, but cannot complete it. For example, "30 of 54 pages were printed".

This problem occurs when you enter data that TFORMer cannot process. In most cases, invalid data has been passed for generating a barcode.

For example: ChargenNummer = "A1234 !" ; The batch number is encoded in a Code39 type barcode. The invalid character, in this case an exclamation mark "!", causes the error message. The behavior for barcode errors can be configured in TFORMerSDK_Config\TFORMer.xml.

Spool shows error code 8007001C

Error code 8007001C means that the printer is out of paper.

Spool shows error code 3F5

Cause: You are trying to subsequently change a data field that has already been initialized (pre-calculations/post-calculations). Calculated data fields are internally managed data fields and cannot be passed in from outside (and vice versa).

Spool shows error code 8004300C

The TFORMer Monitor displays the error text Aufgrund eines Fehlers wurde die angegebene Job-Datei nicht angenommen ("The specified job file was rejected due to an error"). The event log shows an entry Fehler beim Schreiben der Ausgabedatei; Fehler: 80070050, die Datei ist vorhanden ("Error writing the output file; error: 80070050, the file already exists").

Cause: Temporary TFORMer job files (TECxxxx.tmp files) cannot be deleted after spooling and remain in the temp directory. Once the temp directory contains more than 65535 entries (TFORMer files), you get the error message above. The error occurs when a job file contains an error and cannot be moved to the JobError directory (possibly a missing JobError directory or missing permissions on it). Missing permissions on the temp folder can also be the cause.

Spool shows error code 6D68

The error 6D68 (printer could not be initialized) usually occurs during tray selection.

• A tray name is defined in the TFORMer layout or in the tray mappings that does not exist on the printer.
• A format is defined in the TFORMer layout or in the tray mappings that does not exist on the printer.

If the tray or format name does not exist on the printer, this triggers an error during printer initialization.

Possible solutions:

• The printer driver may be language-specific, i.e. you select "Fach 2" but the driver only recognizes "Tray 2", or vice versa. In this case, install the driver with the correct (consistent) language.
• Work with formats (DINA4, etc.) instead of tray 1, 2, 3. Make sure the desired formats are available on all printers. If necessary, define a new form (paper format) under print server properties.
• Store individual tray mappings in TFORMer (a separate mapping table per printer model/group) and specify the mapping in the job file when printing. The mapping then lets you set the correct tray name per printer model. See the TFORMer manual, "Tray Mappings".

Spool shows error code 6

• Spool shows error 00000006 (printer could not be initialized), the problem occurs with all printers.

Please check whether there is a file "TFORMerServer.tfs_lock" in the master repository directory. If it exists, please close all open TFORMer Designer instances and delete this file (if it still exists). Also make sure that after the Printserver.exe process has ended, no *.tfs_lock file remains in the production repository. Then restart the server (or just the process) and check whether the problem still occurs.

The "tfs_lock" file locks the repository for editing as soon as a TFORMer Designer or TFORMer Server opens the repository. A Designer that was not closed properly can leave this file behind, which then blocks the repository from opening the next time the server starts.
