How can I enable logging?
How can I enable logging?
Logging is enabled in the registry:
Logging Printserver (receiving jobs, managing jobs, sending jobs to print)
Registry:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TEC-IT\PrintServer\CurrentVersion\TRACE
- Set TRACEFILE to 1.
- Set TRACELEVEL to 1b (hexadecimal)
On 64-bit systems, note the SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node key!
Additionally in versions prior to V6
Logging TECLabelPrint (setting data fields, performing the print job)
Registry:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TEC-IT\TECLabelPrint\CurrentVersion\TRACE
- Set TRACEFILE to 1.
- Set TRACELEVEL to 1b (hexadecimal).
The registry settings are only read after a process restart. Either stop the TEC-Launcher service (wait 30 sec. until the Printserver.exe process disappears from Task Manager) and restart it, or end the Printserver.exe main process in Task Manager (only when nothing is currently printing!). Two log files should then appear in the configured trace path (e.g. C:\ProgramData\TEC-IT\TFORMer Server\6.1\Log\). The TRACEPATH value must end with a backslash.
Please only use logging for troubleshooting. To limit log file size (disk space), the registry entries TRACEDAYS (retention period) and TRACESIZE (maximum size in KB) are also available.
