Free Bosch label generator for GTL, MAT and neutral labels.
Bosch's Global Transport Label (GTL) follows VDA 4994 but fills its DataMatrix with Bosch's own content. Open the template for your package and print it free.
How to print a Bosch GTL label
-
01
Pick the size by label type
Master, mixed and main shipping labels must be A5. Smaller sizes carry single labels on boxes inside a load unit.
-
02
Copy Bosch's references
Enter part number, order data and supplier number as Bosch sends them by EDI. Add production date, RoHS status and manufacturer data, which the sample leaves empty.
-
03
Get the plant's approval
Send a print sample to the receiving plant. Once approved, the label is mandatory for every delivery there.
What is a Bosch GTL label?
A Bosch GTL label is the Global Transport Label that Robert Bosch GmbH requires on every package carrying parts. Its guideline, version 1.6 of November 2025, follows VDA 4994 but defines its own DataMatrix content. Packs inside a box get a MAT (material) or neutral label.
What the Bosch template prints and encodes
The printed side follows the blocks A1 to E2: sender and receiver on top, part number in the middle, Code 128 package ID below. Most captions are 6-point capitals in Arial Narrow bold, as Bosch prescribes.
Bosch's own content sits in the DataMatrix at the top right: 23 elements in Bosch's order, each with its data identifier (DI) even when empty. Ten inputs, such as RoHS status, appear only in this code.
Why Bosch plants ask for the GTL
Bosch wants every package identified, goods taken in without relabeling and parts traced up to the production lines. Correct placement also enables automated processing, such as camera recording at goods receipt.
Label and despatch advice (DESADV, EDIFACT D.07A) must carry the same data. Bosch matches each pallet's single labels to its master or mixed label through their package IDs, which you must keep unique for at least 6 years.
From one label to a full pallet
Without an account, the generator fills in one label at a time and exports it as print-ready PDF, PNG or JPEG. Copies repeat the package ID, so they suit only the second master or mixed label of a pallet.
For a pallet, sign in free and list its boxes in a data sheet, one serial number per row. In series supply, TFORMer Server prints from SAP data and TFORMer Workstation from CSV files; TFORMer Designer adapts the layouts.

What Bosch adds to the DataMatrix
Unlike TEC-IT's VDA 4994 template, the Bosch code carries the RoHS directive on hazardous substances the parts meet (30P) and the manufacturer's DUNS and part number (12V, 1P). Bosch makes these mandatory on master and single labels, and its order number and item (K, 4K) on master labels.
TEC-IT's template writes the Kanban ID as 15V (Bosch: 15K) and the version as 9K13 (Bosch's 2025 examples: 9K15). Check both with your plant.
MAT and neutral labels
Inside a box with a GTL single label, blisters and coils get the MAT label to VDA 4992 or Bosch's neutral label. The package ID on either must stay unique for 5 years.
- BOSCH MAT. Still required for electronic components; TEC-IT's DataMatrix follows the MAT-Label Specification 2.6, with @ separators.
- Neutral. Supplier data only, 70 × 17 mm with text or 17 × 17 mm code only; Bosch prefers the larger. The manufacturer's DUNS and part number must match the box's GTL. TEC-IT's version omits the production date (16D).
What to enter in each Bosch GTL field
TEC-IT's German A5 template prints no field numbers: 1–29 count its printed fields from top left to bottom right, as on the image above. Captions appear as printed, or as the editor caption where nothing prints. Rows marked — feed only the DataMatrix. Max. gives Bosch's length for the code or, for printed-only fields and dates, the template's input length; the template does not check most of Bosch's lengths.
| No. | Field | Caption on the label | Content | Barcode | Max. length |

Which Bosch template to open
The ten GTL templates share their DataMatrix and differ in size, caption language and printed fields: German names the small sizes KLT1 and KLT2, English SLC1 and SLC2. The other four, MAT and neutral labels, go on the smallest pack. Bosch's SLC3 (210 × 30 mm) and blister (150 × 25 mm) sizes have no TEC-IT template.
