Take part, quantity, batch and serial numbers from your despatch advice (DESADV). Enter a delivery note number or a RAN, not both.
-
03

Print the PDF at 100%, then scan it with Autoliv's free LabelCheck app.
What is an Autoliv AS244 label?
An Autoliv AS244 label identifies a package or transport unit a supplier ships to Autoliv. Autoliv's LabelCheck app tests it against the AS244 specification. TEC-IT's templates print part, quantity, supplier, serial and batch as Code 39 and add a DataMatrix.
What the package template prints
The part number runs across the top in 40-point type, beside a MADE IN line and the DataMatrix. Below are quantity and unit, description, supplier code and reference, date, revision, serial and batch.
Each Code 39 barcode starts with its data identifier (DI): P, Q, V, S or H. Delivery note (N) and RAN (15K) appear only in the DataMatrix.
Autoliv's rules for supplier labels
Autoliv shares its standards with suppliers through its web-based Supplier Manual (ASM). Its 2012 purchasing conditions for Europe, now archived, had suppliers mark goods by ASM rules and bear the costs of incorrect labels.
Autoliv's EDI standard AS 242-2 (2005) says despatch advice and labels must be used together; the message carries batch and packing serial numbers.
AS244 labels for a whole delivery
Without an account, the generator fills in one label at a time as PDF, PNG or JPEG. For a delivery, sign in free and list its packages in a data sheet.
For series supply, TFORMer Server prints the AS244 layouts on request from SAP, TFORMer Workstation from Excel or CSV lists, and TFORMer Designer edits them.

How AS244 relates to Odette and VDA 4994
The A5 template keeps OTL 1's Code 39 with DIs and S, M or G, and adds a DataMatrix.
The GTL identifies packages by a Code 128 license plate, the AS244 templates by serial number. Both wrap their 2D data in the same ISO/IEC 15434 envelope.
What to enter in each field of the AS244 package label
TEC-IT's package template prints no field numbers: 1–11 mark the fields it prints with the sample data, and rows marked — print no text. Original shows the printed caption, else the caption in the app's editor. Max. gives the template's limit unless an Autoliv source is named.
| No. | Field | Caption on the label | Content | Barcode | Max. length |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Customer part number | Customer part no (P) | Autoliv's part number, in 40-point type. Digits, capitals, space and - . $ / + % only. | Code 39 (DI P); DataMatrix (P) | 22 |
| 2 | Quantity | Quantity (Q) | Parts in the package, with no zeros in front; up to 3 decimals after a point. | Code 39 (DI Q); DataMatrix (Q) | 11 |
| 3 | Unit | Unit | Printed after the quantity, such as PCE for pieces or KGM for kilograms. The template accepts 38 codes. | DataMatrix (3Q) | 3 |
| 4 | Country of origin | MADE IN | Printed as MADE IN followed by the country you enter, such as FRANCE. | — | — |
| 5 | Description | Description | Name of the part, printed in bold. | — | — |
| 6 | Supplier code | Supplier code (V) | Your supplier number at Autoliv. Up to 6 characters it is printed and bar-coded; longer numbers go into the DataMatrix only. | Code 39 (DI V); DataMatrix (V) | 9 |
| 7 | Supplier reference | Supplier reference | Supplier data of your own, printed in large type. LabelCheck allows it on every label but does not require it. | DataMatrix (3Z) | — |
| 8 | Date | Date | D with the dispatch date, P with the production date or U with the expiry date, each as YYMMDD. Enter dispatch or production date, not both. | DataMatrix (5D; 14D for expiry) | 6 digits |
| 9 | Part revision | Part Revision | Revision level of the part, where it applies. | DataMatrix (1P) | 3 |
| 10 | Serial number | Serial No | Number of the package; the caption adds the DI, (S) on this template. Autoliv's DESADV standard of 2005 gives packing serial numbers as up to 9 digits. | Code 39 (DI S); DataMatrix (S) | 9 digits (AS 242-2) |
| 11 | Batch number | Batch no (H) | Batch of the parts in the package. Autoliv's DESADV standard makes the batch number mandatory. | Code 39 (DI H); DataMatrix (H) | 10 |

| — | Label type | Label Type (SINGLE) | SINGLE only, which sets DI S. Master and mixed labels need the transport template. | — | — |

| — | Production week | Production Week | Week and year as WWYY; encoded on single labels only. | DataMatrix (10D) | 4 |
| — | Moisture sensitivity level | Moisture Sensibility Level | Leave it empty if it does not apply. | DataMatrix (Z) | — |
| — | Code ID and code version | Code ID | The code type and code version of the DataMatrix. The template accepts only A and 2. | DataMatrix (12S, 16S) | 1 each |

Which Autoliv template to open
Both templates print English captions, Code 39 barcodes and one DataMatrix with the same element order. They differ in size, in the label types they accept and in how much shipping data they print as text.
