FAQ: Installation and Configuration

Error messages after setup, while starting an application, during insert, no ActiveX® Software installed...

Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP

If the ActiveX® Control wasn't installed properly: make sure that your current user has admin-rights (or logged in as admin) on your machine. Then run the setup program again.

Microsoft Windows 2000 (and XP) needs Administrator privileges to register an ActiveX® control in the Windows registry. This is also important if you re-distribute the OCX within your application!

No Object available

An ActiveX® Control has to be registered within the Windows operating system, before it can be used. That's especially important for distributing the OCX file within your applications. Registering can be either done by the installer (e.g. Install-Shield...) or manually by calling RegSvr32.exe. Under Microsoft Win2000 problems with user rights can occur (refer to point 1: Microsoft Windows 2000).

RegSvr32 - DLL Register Server failed (0x80020009)

Refer to point 1.
