Software Update

For an update you simply download the latest version of the software. License keys are bound to a specific product version (main version). Costs are to be expected when you update between main versions:

Free Update Within the Same Main Version

An update within the same main version of the software is totally free of charge. Example: If you want to update TFORMer Designer from 8.0 to 8.1 this is an update within the same main version (V8). In this case your license key will remain valid. All you have to do is to download and install the new setup file.

60% Discount on New Main Version

For updating to a new main version we charge 40% of the regular price of the software. Example: An update from TFORMer Designer 7.5 to 8.1 is an update to a new main version (from 7 to 8). In this case your old license key is no longer valid for the new version. You have to order a new license key. For details please see below.

Ordering an Update

Please contact our sales team and request a quote for the update. You will then receive a special link where you can order your update online with the special discount for updates.

Deadline for Free Updates (Grace Period)

If you purchased a software license and TEC-IT published a new main version within the next 45 days from date of purchase, then you are entitled to a free update. After this time we charge 40% of the actual list price. If you have a service contract major updates are free during the duration of the contract (see below).

Service Contract

We offer you the possibility to order a service contract. This contract lasts for 12 months. During this time you will benefit from the following advantages:

• Guaranteed response times for support requests
• Updates within the maintenance time are always free

Compatibility

If it is technically possible new software versions are compatible with the previous versions.

A note for developers: With new major product versions usually an improved programming interface is available. Therefore you might be forced to adapt your applications when updating to a new main version (e.g. when updating software components like TBarCode or TFORMer SDK).
