Barcode / QR Code Scanner

Besides manual typing, this keyboard scans all commonly used linear and 2D bar-codes. The barcode scanner can also be operated in batch mode. An auto-scan function invokes the scanner automatically in certain input fields of a target app.

Text Recognition (OCR)

The Scanner Keyboard also provides an embedded text scanner which converts camera images to text within seconds and makes typewriting obsolete. Latin-based text is automatically detected and inserted into the desired app.

NFC Tag Reader

In addition to the barcode and text scanners, the keyboard offers an integrated NFC Reader for ISO 15693 (NfcV), NfcA, NfcF, IsoDep and NDEF tags. Quicktext/macro function and voice recognition are further supported input methods.

Seamless Integration

The Scanner Keyboard resembles the layout of the Android standard keyboard — you will immediately be familiar with it. The keyboard also provides voice recognition and spelling suggestions.

Works with Any Target App

Captured data is inserted into the target app like manual input. This input method is available for almost all apps and browsers on Android smartphones and tablets.

Two Barcode Scanner Engines

The 'Traditional Barcode Scanner' is ideal for older phone models. With the 'Advanced Barcode Scanner', you scan the code of interest, by simply tapping on it — a very valuable feature if multiple barcodes are visible in the scan view.

Compatibility / Limitations

Scanner Keyboard is available for Android 4.4 (KitKat) and higher. The 'Advanced Barcode Scanner' and the 'Text Scanner' are supported from Android 5.0 (Lollipop) onward and require installed Google Play services. Xiaomi users may need extra permissions.

Free Demo Version

The free trial is available on Google Play as free demo and displays a demo hint in irregular intervals. Please upgrade (in-app purchase) to the unlimited version to remove this limitation.

Bulk Licensing

For users with volume license requirements for 25 or more devices, TEC-IT offers a bulk-license version of the app. The version available for download on this website is suitable for bulk-licensing and can be activated with activation keys provided by TEC-IT (Internet access is required once for activation). Just contact us to request a quote! Note: Some functions (barcode scanner, text scanner) need Google Play Services to be installed on the device.

Custom / OEM Version

Customized versions are available on request. Please contact sales@tec-it.com for customized or OEM versions of the Scanner Keyboard (e.g. with seamless integration of hardware scanners).
