Bug-Fixes

• Unlicensed Barcodes in Word 2010
  After selecting a bar code (or switching to Design mode) some bar codes were displayed with demo insert (although the product was successfully licensed).

Enhancements

• Temporary Licenses for Evaluation Purposes
  A temporary evaluation license can be requested online for free. Such an evaluation license is valid for a period of 10 days and unlocks the complete product.
• New Templates
  The template list is extended by vCard templates in various sizes.
• TBarCode OCX 10.2.3
  The Add-In is now based upon TBarCode OCX 10.2.3 (Barcode ActiveX Control - see Enhancements of TBarCode OCX).

Enhancements

• Additional Measuring Unit [Mils]
  Width, height and module width can now be displayed in mils (0.001 inch) and in millimeters. Switch between the units by clicking on the unit name in the panel.
• Licensing on Terminal Server
  Support licensing in one central registry location for Terminal Server environments.
• Silent Setup
  Setup can now be run in "silent mode" without user interaction (by adding specific command line parameters).
• Key Combinations in Size Fields
  Using Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V in width, height and module width input fields is now supported.
• TBarCode OCX 10.1.0
  The Add-In is now based upon TBarCode OCX 10.1 (Barcode ActiveX Control) with new bar code types Brazilian CEPNet and VIN/FIN.

Bug-Fixes

• Advanced Settings
  Deselecting a barcode and clicking Advanced Settings displayed wrong sizemode and font settings.
• Mail Merge Column Names
  Similar column names in mail merge data sources (e.g. "Article" and "ArticleNo") could lead to an error.
• Wrong Decimal Point
  Wrong decimal point recognition on systems with South African regional settings (permanent errors).
• Setup Excel Add-In
  Selecting only the Excel Add-In during TBarCode Office setup did not install all required files.

Known Problems

• Mail Merge fails with non OLE DB data connections
  Data sources not configured as OLE DB connection may lead to unexpected behaviour (e.g. not all records can be processed) - see also our FAQ.

Enhancements

• Default Settings
  Added/corrected missing default settings (size, module width etc) for some Postal and Pharma Codes.
• Escape Sequences
  GS1 bar codes (GS1-128, GS1 DataBar...) translate escape sequences like \F now by default.
• File Access Error
  Increased reading time out for EMF files to avoid blocked file access caused by Antivirus software. Problem occurs with Merge To New Document only.

Word Add-In Bug-Fixes

• Copy To Clipboard
  Wrong bar code size with Copy To Clipboard with custom screen resolution (<> 96 dpi). Occurs only if no bar code has been selected.
• Mail Merge
  Down-scaled barcode size with Merge To New Document in Compatibility Mode (Word 97-2003 format).

Known Problems

• Mail Merge with Text File Data Sources
  Mail merges with text file data sources (e.g. TXT, CSV...) are not supported. Only the first two records can be merged, then the mail merge stops. Recommended workaround: Copy your data into an Excel worksheet and specify the Excel file as data source.

TBarCode OCX

• This Add-In uses TBarCode OCX V10.0.2.13196.

New Features

• Barcode Templates
  Pre-defined barcode templates simplify the creation of industry compliant barcodes (e.g. for EAN, UPC and Deutsche Post Premiumadress^® Data Matrix).
• New Options
  Word Barcode Add-In: The option "Strip leading and trailing white spaces" avoids errors due to unintentional entered spaces or line breaks.
• User Interface Languages
  The Microsoft^® Word add-in supports now English, German, Spanish, Chinese and Italian.

Bug-Fixes

• Microsoft Word: Barcodes in Fields
  Word Barcode Add-In: A warning is shown if the user inserts a bar code into an existing field. Barcode objects within fields are not supported an lead to error messages in mail merges.

Known Problems

• Microsoft Word 2010: Mail Merge while Microsoft Outlook^® is Running
  When performing a mail merge while Microsoft Outlook is running you may receive sporadic error messages (occurs only with mail merge to printer). It is recommended to exit Outlook before starting a mail merge.

TBarCode OCX

• This Add-In uses TBarCode OCX V10.0.0.13058.

Word Add-In Enhancements

• Barcode Label Printing Support
  Barcode label printing support was added: The mail merge rules "Next Record" and "Next Record If" can now be used.

Word Add-In Bug-Fixes

• Mail Merge Created Unwanted Page Headers
  A mail merge sometimes added unwanted (empty) headers and footers to the document.
• Merge to a New Document Changed the Document Styles
  The style of a new document generated by a mail merge did not match the source document (tables, invisible text and alignment was modified).
• Error Messages when Excel Sheet is Embedded
  When an Excel sheet is embedded in Microsoft Word, the TBarCode Excel Add-In flooded the screen with error messages.
• Drag&Drop Excel Sheets Blocked Barcode Functionality
  After inserting an Excel sheet into a Word document, the bar code functionality was disturbed (fatal errors when inserting a barcode or during mail merge).

General Bug-Fixes

• Licensing Failed with Leading Zeros in System-ID
  If the System ID is in the form of 0xxxxxxx, then the licensing failed in the manual licensing mode.

• This release uses TBarCode OCX V10.0.0.13058.

• Selecting a Specific Record of a Mail Merge
  Selecting a specific record and thereafter clicking Preview Results now displays the correct barcode.
• Poor Barcode Quality in Mail Merge to Email
  Barcodes are now generated as EMF (enhanced metafile).

• Barcode Insertion can now be Canceled with ESC
  The user is now able to cancel barcode insertion operations with ESC.

• Inserting Multiple Barcodes
  When the user selected a cell more than once (with CTRL + Click or CTRL + Drag) and afterwards Insert Barcode clicked, the barcode add-in inserted multiple barcodes for this cell.

• Online Activation Keys with Dashes
  Activation keys containing dashes (e.g. XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) are now supported.
• Help File not Found
  Clicking help in the ribbon displayed the message "Help file not found".

• This release uses TBarCode OCX V10.0.0.13058 (see TBarCode History).

• TBarCode Office for Word AND Excel
  TBarCode Office is now available for Excel 2007 / 2010.

• Microsoft Office 2010 64 Bit Support
  The TBarCode Office Add-In now supports the 64 bit version of Microsoft Office 2010.
• Unified x32 and x64 Setup
  A single setup application serves x32 and x64 installations.

• Open Documents from Outlook Attachments
  When a document was opened with Outlook in full-screen mode TBarCode Office caused an error message in Microsoft Word.
• Multiple Word Instances
  When opening multiple instances of Word, the Insert Barcode button from the Word toolbars worked only in the first instance.
• Automated Resizing of Barcode Controls
  When the output format of the barcodes was set to control instead of EMF, the barcodes did not resize during the mail merge process.
• Close Mail Merge Progress and Show Mail Merge Log
  When the mail merge to a printing device was aborted, the progress bar did not close and the mail merge log was not opened.

• This release uses TBarCode OCX V10.0.0.13045 (see TBarCode History).

• New Localizations
  The TBarCode Office Panel is now displayed automatically in Chinese (Simplified), English, German and Spanish.

• Windows x64 OS Compatibility
  The Add-In was not loaded/visible in Word on Windows x64 versions (due to a problem with VBPowerpack library).
• Documents with Wrong Barcodes
  Opening a document with invalid barcode settings and changing the bar code type created an exception (error message).
• Disable Events Option
  The Disable Events option created an error message during startup of Word.

• This release uses TBarCode OCX V10.0.0.13010 (see TBarCode History).
• Bug Fixes:
• Clipping of Human Readable Text in Quiet Zone drawing area.
• ISBN-13: Wrong error message if user supplies wrong check digit in ISBN-10 input format.
